Building Community

We will engage the diverse expertise, capabilities and interests of individuals and groups who can contribute to the shared goal of excellence in specialty medicine and better care for all.
Successful community building is key to unlocking ideas and discussions, and creating the greatest possible value for Fellows. We will work with residents and Fellows to build stronger connections and networks among current and future members, as well as foster a greater sense of belonging with the Royal College. Our ongoing advocacy, research and collaboration will ensure that diverse perspectives across the health care community are understood and advanced in every stage of our planning and programming.
How we will deliver on this strategic priority:
- Collaborate with patients, partners and other organizations to ensure societal voices and needs drive health systems improvement and advance high-quality specialty care.
- Continue to improve the health and care of Indigenous populations by building capacity for Indigenous health research through research grants.
- Continue Fellow and resident input through membership engagement and ongoing two-way feedback to shape and strengthen the value of Fellowship.
- Connect the expertise, ideas and voices of our resident and Fellow community through virtual community platforms.
- Implement an inclusive Volunteer Engagement and Wellness Program that will recruit, support and value the diverse contributions of our volunteers.
- Support Fellows who are passionate about international efforts by continuing to engage in Royal College International initiatives and by funding the International Development, Aid and Collaboration program.
